Employment Tribunal Fees - on 29th July 2013 we will see the introduction of employment tribunal fees ranging from £160 for Type A claims (unlawful deduction from wages, claims for holiday pay, etc) to £230 for all other types of claims (Type to commence proceedings. Also, within 21-28 days of the hearing date a claimant will need to pay a hearing fee of £250 for Type A claims and £950 for everything else. There will be a system of fee remission in place so that claimants with disposable capital and income below a certain level will end up paying nothing or a smaller contribution towards the fee. Claims must be issued before 4pm on Friday 26th July 2013 to avoid the fees regime altogether. Seek legal advice now if you intend to bring a claim.
