What’s Up Doc? Reasonable Adjustments – Paying for Medical Treatment

 the Employment Appeal Tribunal upheld the finding that it could be a reasonable adjustment for an employer to pay for medical treatment in the case of Croft Vets v Butcher.

In this case the employee was suffering from depression. The employer referred her to a consultant psychiatrist who recommended 6 psychiatric sessions. Although the changes of successful treatment were 50% the consultant was of the view that it would certainly lead to a significant improvement in the employee’s condition. Also, the treatment was limited to specifically providing support “to enable the Claimant to return to work and cope with the difficulties she had been experiencing at work
