What does it involve?
Well, quite a lot. Once a buyer is found, the solicitors deal with detailed enquiries while the buyer sorts out the finance. Once all this is sorted a completion date is agreed, contracts are exchanged and in due course the property and the purchase money change hands.
We can do it all from preparing the contract to final registration. At every stage we will advise you on what to do, what you should accept and what you should not. We’re with you all the way.
What does it cost?
We don’t claim to be the cheapest but the best rarely is. Our fees are fair and realistic. You will know upfront what will be the cost, with no nasty surprises later.
If you are planning to buy or sell a property it is much the best plan to get us involved from the very start. We will give you advice that is clear, professional and in YOUR interest, not driven by hopes of extra commission or deals behind the scenes.

Becky Bromfield - Associate Solicitor
Becky Bromfield joined Howard and Over in December 2015 after completing her training contract with Bright Solicitors and qualifying as a solicitor in November 2014.
Becky has experience in both residential and commercial property but currently specialises in residential property in the Plymouth office.
Becky frequently deals with both freehold and leasehold property, new builds, shared ownership, help to buy, leases, lease extensions, development, transfers of land, transfers of equity and re-mortgages.
Becky has lived in Plymouth all of her life and has lived in the Elburton/Plymstock area for the last 18 years.
Natalie Couling - Trainee Conveyancer
Natalie joined Howard and Over in November 2015 as a paralegal after working in the conveyancing department at Bond Dickinson LLP.
Natalie assists with both freehold and leasehold property, new builds, shared ownership, help to buy, leases, lease extensions, development, transfers of land, transfers of equity and re-mortgages.
Natalie works from the Plymouth Office.
Kim Hall - Legal Executive
Kim’s legal career began in Paignton in 1985 as an Office Junior for a Sole Practitioner. Kim became a Conveyancing Executive in 1989 and qualified as a Chartered Legal Executive in 2002 and was made a Fellow in 2004. Kim was Head of Residential Conveyancing for a local Solicitors in the South Hams and moved to be a Branch Manager and Associate in the Teignbridge Area in 2015.
Kim was originally from North Yorkshire and moved to Devon in 1978. Kim has lived in the Torbay Area from 1978 to 2008 moving to Totnes where she still lives with her family and pets.
Kim has extensive experience in residential conveyancing including selling, buying, remortgaging, transfer of equity, buy to let, transfer of title and voluntary first registration.
Kim was formerly Chairman of the Devon Branch of CILEX and also Secretary to the South Hams Business League.
Outside of work Kim’s interests are attending live music concerts, going to the cinema and theatre and being involved in the dachshund community in South Devon.
Jo Melvin - Associate Legal Executive
Jo is a Chartered Fellow of the Institute of Legal Executives and has worked in residential conveyancing for 30 years with half of that experience being post qualification. Jo joined Howard and Over in 2007 and works from the Ivybridge Office.
Jo heads up our Residential Conveyancing Department in Ivybridge.
Jo has a wealth of experience in all aspects of residential property including residential sales and purchases (all values), freehold and leasehold property, new builds, shared ownership, help to buy, leases, transfers of land, transfer of equity and remortgages, matrimonial transfers, easements and auction sales and purchases.
Jo has lived and worked in and around the South Hams area for the last 31 years and so has a huge local knowledge.
